 Webcam images on this site are sourced from websites around the United States. The core of the application grabs an image when it updates (generally checking every 15 minutes) and then saves it locally. Magical Perl elves then crop and parse the image data to produce a "max color" result which is then saved to a database. Displayed to the right are the last 96 color squares per gathering site, representing approximately one days worth of sky colors. Clicking on a color box (or hovering over it) will display the image the data was collected from. As this idea is still developing, expect changes to the way data is displayed.
